Lewisham Green Spaces Forum (formerly Lewisham Parks Forum) was created to represent Friends groups from all Lewisham parks and green spaces.
Parks with Friends groups send representatives to forum meetings. The forum will also try to represent park users and parks that don’t have formalized user groups.
At this time of Government and Local Authority cut-backs parks are at the forefront of expenditure reduction, mostly by park keeper and gardener reductions.
The Aims of the forum are:
a) To protect & promote green space;
b) To improve & enhance the quality and amenity of green space;
c) To improve staffing & management of the Borough’s green spaces;
d) To ensure involvement of Friends/ Users groups as partners in the management of our Borough’s parks & public green spaces;
e) To encourage use and appreciation of our parks and open spaces.
