Saturday 18th June Wide Horizons Summer Solstice Nightline Walk Challenge

Summer Solstice Nightline Challenge –  “On Saturday 18th June join over 100 local people to walk from Eltham to Kent under a Solstice night sky to help young children from across the surrounding area experience life changing adventures that helps change their lives.

Nightline is intended for everyone, no matter your fitness levels or prior experience.  Individually, or with friends, you will walk some of the region’s most famous trails including the Green Chain Link, London Loop, Darent Valley Path, and the North Downs Way experiencing a sunset in Eltham and a sunrise in Kent.

There are three route options to choose from…so come down for just the evening or spend the whole night with us…

A half-distance walk – The first half (25km) from Wide Horizons Environment Centre, Eltham and finishing at Wide Horizons Horton Kirby Centre near Dartford – Starting from 7:30pm.

A half-distance walk – The second half (25km) from Wide Horizons Horton Kirby Centre near Dartford to Wide Horizons Margaret McMillan House, Wrotham – Starting from 11:30pm. The full 50km walk starting at Wide Horizons Environment Centre, Eltham and finishing at Wide Horizons Margaret McMillan House, Wrotham – Starting from 7:30pm

The route will be fully arrowed, with illuminated signs so that you’re able to see them in the dark. There will also be highly-qualified Wide Horizons staff leading out groups to set you off in the right direction!

You’ll be kept refreshed throughout the event with rest stops along the route, where there are opportunities to refill your water bottles and have a snack. At the half way point there’ll be delicious (tasty?) hot soup and a roll and at the end you will be treated to a delicious cooked breakfast!

To help you get home there will be places available on shuttle bus services returning you to where you started the challenge though the night and on Sunday morning.

To register for Nightline, go to or, for more information please give me a call on 020 8294 8160 or email

Thank you for your support and I hope you can join us.”
